Wolfe will get Abbott award
George C. Wolfe will get the 2010 Mr. Abbott Award, the lifetime achievement kudo passed out through the Stage Company directors and Choreographers Foundation and also the legit helmers' union associated with the org. Thesps whom Wolfe has directed previously -- including Elaine Stritch ("Elaine Stritch at Liberty"), Jeffrey Wright ("Angels in the usaInch) and Ellen Barkin ("The Standard Heart") -- can look included in a tribute perf, composed by John Guare ("A Totally Free Guy of Color") and helmed by Jack O'Brien. Composer Jeanine Tesori ("Caroline, or Change") provides music direction. Kudo continues to be succumbed prior years to Harold Prince, Susan Stroman and Michael Bennett, amongst others.
